Getting Started
Launch Mac Remote Companion
Download Mac Remote Companion and launch it on your Mac — it runs as a menu bar icon and listens for connections from your iPhone.
Same Network Required
Your iPhone and Mac must be on the same Wi-Fi network or Bluetooth. Mac Remote Companion will then be discoverable automatically.
Tap to Connect
Your Mac appears in the list once discovered. Tap its name to connect and start controlling.
Trackpad Gestures
Tap — Click
Single tap anywhere to left-click.
Double Tap — Double Click
Double tap to double-click and open files or select words.
2-Finger Scroll
Slide two fingers to scroll. Lift to trigger momentum scrolling.
2-Finger Tap — Right Click
Tap with two fingers simultaneously to right-click.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Show Keyboard
Tap the keyboard icon (top right) to show or hide the system keyboard.
App Switcher ⌘⇥
Tap ⌘⇥ to cycle through apps. Tap ✓ or wait 2.5 s to confirm.
Copy & Paste
⌘C and ⌘V send copy and paste to the Mac. A notification confirms the result.
System Shortcuts
Spotlight, Mission Control, Dock toggle, and Wake are all available in the keyboard bar.
Media Controls
Open Media Panel
Tap the music note icon to reveal the media overlay. It auto-closes after 3 s of inactivity.
Playback Controls
Previous, Play/Pause, Stop and Next control the active audio app on your Mac.
Volume & Brightness
Sliders adjust Mac system volume and display brightness in real time.
Connection
Same Network Required
Both devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network or Bluetooth.
Mac Remote Companion
Companion must be running on your Mac — it appears as a menu bar icon.
Local Network Permission
If your Mac isn't found, check that Mac Remote Companion has Local Network access in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security.
Wake Mac
Wake Display
Tap the power button while connected to wake the Mac display from idle sleep.
Wake from System Sleep
When the Mac is fully asleep (connection lost), the power button sends a Wake-on-LAN magic packet over your local network.
Required Mac Setting
Enable "Wake for network access" in Mac System Settings → Battery for Wake-on-LAN to work.
